Mindful Mates Association Inc. is a not-for-profit dedicated to strengthening community mental health. We provide free and low-cost programs, Mental Health First Aid training, and peer-led initiatives so that no one has to face mental health challenges alone.

Aaron Hine has dedicated his life to supporting the community, both through his service as a military veteran and as a paramedic since 2008. He currently serves as a Peer Support Officer with the Queensland Ambulance Service, where he provides vital wellbeing and guidance to his colleagues. Aaron’s strong commitment to service, resilience, and peer connection makes him a highly valued member of Mindful Mates Association Inc, where his lived and professional experience continues to strengthen our mission to support the community, including veterans, first responders, and their families.

Jason Bax is an ex-serving member of the Australian Defence Force and a seasoned tertiary education administration professional. With more than a decade of experience in student services and academic coordination, he now serves as a Student and Academic Administration Officer at the University of Queensland. Jason’s career has also spanned financial services and leadership in higher education, underpinned by the discipline and resilience he developed during his time in the Royal Australian Air Force. His dedication to service and community makes him a highly valued member of Mindful Mates Association Inc, where he continues to support the community, including veterans, first responders, and their families.

Chris Larkham served in the Australian Army as an Infantry soldier, including deployment to Afghanistan, before transitioning into emergency services. He is now a Senior Paramedic with the Queensland Ambulance Service and currently works as a Clinical Support Officer (CSO). Chris’s combination of military and paramedic experience reflects his lifelong commitment to service and community. As a valued member of Mindful Mates Association Inc, he continues to strengthen our mission to support the community, including veterans, first responders, and their families.
